Alight at Night is Eastern Ontario's biggest outdoor light festival. It is held annually during the month of December and the first week of the new year at Upper Canada Village.

The entirity of Upper Canada Vilage's fences, buildings and trees are adorned in close to a million lights for the festival.

Lights on the Church

The walk through the village normally takes about an hour to complete, however there is an accessibility night in which the grounds are open to those with mobility challenges to actually drive their vehicles through and still be able to enjoy the display of lights.

The facilities are also open during that event, so you can enjoy a meal at any of the three restaurants, or just get a quick hot chocolate along the way. Getting a dinner reservation is a good way to ensure you're there before the majority of the crowds.

Hot Chocolate and more

Aside from walking through yourself, the option to hop on a horse-drawn wagon is available. For a more intimate experience, carriages for two are also available and have been part of several marriage proposals over the years.

Lights galore

There is also a train ride that can be had as part of your price of admission, which departs every half hour for a short ride around the grounds providing an alternative view of all the lights.

Admission is in line with what regular admission to Upper Canada Village costs, although slightly reduced. A family of four will cost approximately $50, but children 4 and under are free. For more information about the event, or to get tickets, visit the website.
